Artist Statement
My artwork and I both lie somewhere in the middle, between the logical and the creative, addressing the theme of balance in the human mind. By exploring the scientific side of expression, I have strived to understand where creativity originates. I often seek to explore why people are the way they are, searching for the perfect explanation yet usually finding more questions than answers. Inspiration is found in the phenomena that affect our daily lives, from mental health conditions to natural disasters to the influence of language on the human psyche. Through utilizing color, texture, and form, I create unique pieces meant to impact how my viewers think and encourage them to re-evaluate their behavior.
