In Colonial times, young girls created samplers to aide in their education and to learn one of the basic female accomplishments: embroidery. They were used to show off the artistic skills of young women to potential suitors and to proclaim her worth as a lady of virtue. Today, we utilize social media as a way to communicate the things we find important, entertaining, or exciting. We share family photos, funny videos, and beautiful stories. But many also write hurtful comments and hateful posts. In a time where our words are made public and our values are available to the masses, many people have forgotten their values.
